Perimeter Solutions’ SOLBERG®, and AUXQUIMIA® Class B foams are ahead of the curve, offering world leading fluorine-free formulations (SFFF and AR-SFFF), as well as a select range of C6-based aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF) and alcohol-resistant aqueous film-forming foams (AR-AFFF). Our fluorine-free foam concentrates hold a range of comprehensive 3rd-party recognized approvals, including Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Factory Mutual (FM), EN-1568 Certified, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) levels B and C, International Maritime Organization (IMO), US Military Specifications 32725, GESIP and LASTFIRE Certified.
Following the global success of SOLBERG® RE-HEALING™ fluorine-free foam concentrates, in 2020 Perimeter Solutions introduced our SOLBERG® AVIGARD™ line of fluorine-free firefighting foam concentrates, a high-performance Newtonian (low-viscosity) product developed specifically for aviation applications with ICAO Level B and ICAO Level C certification.
In 2023, Perimeter Solutions introduced SOLBERG® 3% MIL-SPEC SFFF, the world-first fluorine-free firefighting foam concentrate to be added to the U.S. Department of Defense Qualified Products List (QPL). Making it the first fluorine-free foam available for use where MIL-SPEC qualified products are required, further assisting the aviation industry to transition from traditional AFFF to Newtonian fluorine-free technology with confidence. SOLBERG 3% MIL-SPEC SFFF meets MIL-PRF-32725 and is ICAO B and ICAO C certified.
SOLBERG® EVOLUTION 3% SFFF was introduced as a Newtonian fluorine-free foam solution with MIL-PRF-32725 and ICAO B approvals for Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF). This foam concentrate includes UL-162 and FM 5130 world-first approvals for use in non-aspirated sprinklers, allowing for additional fire protection in hangar sprinkler systems – further assisting in the transition to fluorine-free for engineered fire suppression systems.
Perimeter Solutions is at the forefront of the development of fluorine-free foam concentrate technology for aviation and military applications – leading the transition to fluorine-free with installations in North America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia Pacific. Perimeter Solutions, with SOLBERG Fluorine-Free Foams, participated in the first fluorine-free fixed foam system airport conversion and Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF) truck conversion at a major airport in North America. AVIATION PRODUCTS
Class B Foam
Perimeter Solutions’ SOLBERG®, and AUXQUIMIA® Class B firefighting foams utilize the latest technology and are among the most effective and environmentally responsible products on the market. Our Class B product portfolio includes the world leading SOLBERG fluorine-free formulations (SFFF and AR-SFFF), such as SOLBERG AVIGARD, SOLBERG MIL-SPEC 3% SFFF and SOLBERG EVOLUTION 3% SFFF, as well as AFFF and AR-AFFF. These foam concentrates are offered in 1%, 3%, and 6% proportioned versions and include freeze protected and low-viscosity options.
SOLBERG AVIGARD, SOLBERG 3% MIL-SPEC SFFF and SOLBERG EVOLUTION 3% SFFF Fluorine-Free Foam Concentrates are state-of-the-art fluorine-free, low-viscosity aviation foam technology solutions designed to extinguish and secure flammable aviation fuel spills and fires (Jet A and Jet A1). A special combination of hydrocarbon surfactants and additives delivers excellent foaming, extinguishment and burnback properties to firefighting foams using either fresh water or sea water. These SOLBERG foam concentrates contain no intentionally added PFAS chemicals and can be considered as readily and rapidly biodegradable.
These SOLBERG foam concentrates feature a special formulation designed to meet or exceed regulations – ICAO and/or MIL-PRF-32725 – with excellent performance on Jet A/Jet A1 fuel – having high fluidity and slow drainage. They may be used with low expansion foam equipment (nozzles and monitors) and medium expansion foam devices to fight fires involving Class B hydrocarbon fuel fires.
Fire Extinguisher Additives
Perimeter Solutions fire extinguisher additives are especially designed for use in portable fire extinguishers. These foam concentrates are designed for use with handheld or wheeled units for rapid extinguishment of shallow spill fires. They are compatible with carbon steel and light alloys exhibiting low-corrosion rates.
